- Entrepreneurs’ Association opens — founded by Martin Palmer

- 1st Annual Inc. 500 Heavy Hitter Dinner held

- EA purchased by Daniel W. Diener and Jan F. Triplett, Ph.D.
- 1st scholarship for "Street MBA" program designed and taught by Dan Diener and Jan Triplett - first winner is Michael Fossum of Traction Works
- 1st time EA offers Executive Suites
- 1st"Meet the Media" program with KLBJ

- 1st annual Miniature Golf Tournament with the media
- 1st time EA includes members in its trade show booths - Buy Greater Austin Showcase was the first joint - marketing opportunity
- 1st time EA and members mentioned in Home Office Computing
- EA moves to new location which provides meeting space, and first display space for members and business book lending library
- 1st Celebrity Monopoly Tournament to benefit Junior Achievement

- 1st international trade mission — Ecuador
- 1st EA web site established
- 1st local business group to provide a series of Internet classes for beginners through advanced
- Selected by Anthony Robbins team to coordinate and cosponsor his Texas seminar
- 1st Annual Arts Bazaar for EA arts-related businesses and benefit Capital Area Food Bank and the Austin Humane Society
- Recognizes 1st group of outstanding EA members — Eric Bramblett, Tina Burgess, Bill Coon, Adrian Early, Pedro Filipowsky, Mel Hamner, Clay Leben, Haley Moy, Petr Obrda, Joe Stevenson
- Inaugurates One-on-One Counseling program to link EA member experts with members in need
- EA becomes Charter Member of the Texas and National Business Leaders Network, focusing on employment of people with disabilities

- 1st Austin celebration of Small Business Month with special activities
- 1st time EA celebrates members’ business birthdays in the newsletter
- 1st "Meet the Media" panel discussion with eight major Austin media
- Introduces EA Corporate Partner program, bringing large and small businesses together-Principal Financial Group is the first Corporate Partner
- Establishes "Good News" in the newsletter and to send to local media about EA member news - contracts, staff changes, new products/services, etc.

- Established Virtual Member program and gets its first out of state member from Florida
- Introduced 1st New Product Showcase (nine companies participate) and co-sponsors ITEC Show

- Wonresearch grant from International Association of Business Communicators on best practices for small businesses in the area of public relations
- Panelist on access to capital on the Lt. Governor's Texas Summit

- Heavy Hitter presented as a day long event with national and international speakers with a focus on tranferring a business. NASDAQ and Tsunami Network Partners Corporation assist with the program and sponsorship.

2005

  • Heavy Hitter recognizes BSC’s four levels of progress by Hatchery clients and their “Unsung Heroes and Heroines” who help make the owner’s work to build a business worthwhile.

  • Complete 200+ page Growth Guide with how to’s, evaluation and tracking tools, extensive glossary and bibliography, and examples of all six areas of business: planning, administration, finance, book and record keeping, sales and marketing, and operations.
